1. Comfy Mattress

Think of your guest bedroom like a hotel room.  Do you like sleeping in hotel beds with hard, dirty, or otherwise uncomfortable mattresses?  Neither do your guests.  Your home should offer comfort like the best 5 star hotels.  Check this article out for choosing the best guest bedroom mattress.

2. Refreshments

Think back to times when you’ve stayed with a friend or been at a hotel.  You might have just spent hours traveling, be in a different time zone, or just because, but you get hungry!  You don’t have the convenience of going to your kitchen and grabbing a snack or drink. It can be awkward to ask your host for a bite to eat, especially at odd times of the day.  Have some bottled water and other refreshments sitting out for your visitors in your guestroom to provide a little extra layer of comfort.  Here’s a helpful list for preparing a snack basket for your guest bedroom.

3. Toiletries

I don’t know about your but I get a bit grumpy when I realize I’ve forgotten to pack something important like toothpaste or deodorant on a trip.  It’s easy enough to buy a new tube of toothpaste, but who wants to take the time to go buy some when you’re on a trip?!  Stock your guestroom with an assortment of toiletries that might come in handy in case they forgot to pack something.  Don’t forget First-aid items such as Advil, Band-aids, and lotions.  You can always find travel-sized products at most grocery and super stores.  Also, save the toiletries from hotels when you go on trips yourself.  Source.

4. Alarm Clock

It’s true that most people now have cell phones with an alarm but it’s still best to provide visitors with an alarm clock in your guest bedroom.  Anything will do, but I’ve put a nature sounds clock in our guestroom in case our visitor is used to ambient noises at home.  Nothing wrong with going the extra mile to make people comfortable in your house!  Check out some clock options here.

Like pillow choice, people are quite particular about room temperature when sleeping.  Even if it’s cold outside, still make sure your guestroom has a fan in case your visitors sleep best when they’re chilled.  The ambient noise might also provide an extra sense of comfort.  Find a variety of fans here.

10. Drawers

For guests that are planning to stay longer than a few days, they’ll be grateful to have a place to unload their suitcase.  Not only is it just annoying to have to fish around in a suit case to find an outfit, but pulling wrinkly clothes out of a bag isn’t all that nice either….  Chest of drawer options.
