I’ve always lived by the adage that it’s more meaningful to make gifts for loved ones rather than purchasing them at the grocery store. And while it may have been a bit tricky before the days of the internet to figure out what you are going to make your loved ones, there are plenty of DIY Christmas gifts online that you can make. For example, I love this spa-like peppermint scrub. DIY spa Christmas gifts are the best. It smells great, feels amazing on your skin, and it’s super easy to make. Follow the recipe below.
DIY Spa Christmas Gifts (Peppermint Sugar Scrub)
Here’s What You’ll Need:
-Gift tags (for labeling)
-Ribbon (for accessorizing)
-2 cups sugar
-1/4 cup coconut oil
-Red food coloring
Step One:
To begin making this easy DIY Christmas gift, pour your sugar into a medium-sized bowl. Once complete, mix in the coconut oil so that it is all mixed together. Drop 5-8 drops of Peppermint essential oil into the mixture and mix that well also.
Step Two:
Next, divide the sugar scrub mixture equally between two bowls. You’ll want to dye one half of the mixture red while leaving the other half white. You’ll only need 2-3 drops of red food coloring so that the mixture turns into a soft red. Be careful not to use too much, it can ruin your sugar scrub and stain the tub!
Step Three:
Pour layers of your sugar scrub into a mason jar, taking care to alternate “layers” so that they alternate between red and white. You’ll want to layer them so that they create a candy cane. When complete, screw on the lid of your mason jar and tie it off with a ribbon. This is one of the easiest DIY Christmas gifts to make. I love this peppermint spa-like scrub. Though this scrub will stay preserved for quite some time, I recommend using it in the first few months.
