I can’t believe it, but I am finally old enough to see some trends from my childhood circle back around. I can’t believe my kids are asking for hair scrunchies and big flannel shirts. But I am not going to lie, I love that all of these items have come back around again.. Mostly because I got to dig through all of my old clothing! If you love to style yourself for the ’90s, take a look at these great 90s reruns.
Hit Me Baby One More Time: 90s Reruns
90s Rerun Cartoons
Looking to really get in the 90s reruns mood? Head to YouTube to watch a quick episode of one of these forgotten 90s cartoons. Of course, Rugrats made the list!
90s Rerun Hair Scrunchies
Whether you wear them around your wrist or to tie your hair back, a hair scrunchie is always a great accessory. Lately, I’ve found them in the $1 aisle at Target, or, if you are looking for something a little fancier, I’ve found them at Lululemon as well. I love that it is hip to have these around your wrists again!
90s Rerun Hair Clips
Just as the hair scrunchies are coming back in style, so are the hair clips! The best part is that there are several different styles available, and you can choose anything from large barrettes to something smaller. No matter what you decide to go with, you can’t go wrong with a few hair clips to keep the fly-aways pinned back.
Y2K Outfits
These 90 rerun outfits are coming back, and hotter than ever! Pair your favorite light-wash Levis with a large patterned flannel in the color of your choosing. Finish it off with some Timberlands or Nike high-tops for a totally 90s reminiscent look.
Another trend I am loving is pairing crop tops with high or even low-waisted jeans. Pair it with some flip flops for a Laguna Beach-esque vibe.
And you can’t forget the colored sweatsuits! While these were popular in the 00s as well, they first emerged around the 90s. I could definitely get behind the velour sweatsuit trend coming back.
90s Rerun Party Outfit Hip Hop
When it comes to picking the right outfit for a hip hop party, you can never go wrong with bright colored (like teals, pinks, and other shades of cobalt blue) jackets, snapback hats, and high top Nikes. You could even pair it with a pair of pants that match your jacket or even some acid-washed jeans. Take a look at this article of mine for more 90s party ideas.
90s Music Artists
After you’ve caught up on the cartoons, keep with your old school vibe by listening to a song from a classic 90s artist. Some of my favorites are Nirvana, Madonna, TLC, A Tribe Called Quest, Snoop Dogg, Tupac, and The Offspring.
90s Rerun Streetwear
T-shirts, slightly baggy jeans, high top sneakers, and tons of accessories were what 90s streetwear is all about. I love these looks.
