90s Braid Hairstyles For Black Women

I love the idea of channeling powerful Black women who killed it in the 90s when it comes to braided hairstyles. You can’t go wrong with classic box braids, and you can make it even more 90s-friendly with a thick headband to match your outfit.

There's something so fabulous about the grunge era! Not only am I obsessed with everything '90s fashion, but I love the hairstyles from that decade too. Here are some of my favorite 90s braided hairstyles. Classic box braids are a staple of the 90s.

Another great idea is to just do box braids on the crown of your head, leaving the rest of your hair long, loose, and natural. Take a look at the woman below for an idea of how to pull this look off. I love this!

90s Braid Hair Styles For White Women

You can’t go wrong with any kind of french braid. Whether you gather your hair into one long braid down your back or split it into two braids down the sides, you can’t go wrong with one of these styles!

Speaking of pigtails, I love the look of blunt bangs with long pigtails. To create, simply part your hair and pull them into two ponytails on the sides of your head. Once complete, divide your ponytails so that you can split them all up into individual braids. This is giving me major ’70s vibes and I am LOVING it.

As I mentioned earlier in this article, you can never go wrong with a box braid style. After pulling your hair back into classic box braids, take a look at some of the images below for ideas to style your own hair. Don’t forget to comment below and tell me which one is your favorite!
