Beauty Mistakes You Make Every Morning

Beauty Mistakes You Make Every Morning

After sharing with a friend that I never use an SPF on my face, I learned that there are several beauty mistakes I am guilty of making every morning. Keep reading so you can avoid making those same beauty mistakes!

I’ve had the same morning routine since I was a young college student. And although I’ve gotten married and had a few kids since then, my morning routine has remained pretty much the same. I guess it is time for a change.

 Beauty Mistakes

Skipping The SPF

I’m super guilty of this one here. Before leaving your home for the day, make sure to put a moisturizer with an SPF on your face first. Worn under makeup, it can protect your skin from even the harshest day-to-day elements. I’ve made it my goal to use an SPF of at least 5 once daily, and I encourage you to do the same!

Wearing Purple (Or Pink) Eyeshadows

While it seems like wearing purple or pink eyeshadows would be a great way to “warm up” your face, it’s really not. Did you know that wearing purple or pink eyeshadows can actually make your eyes look puffy and tired? No thanks! Go for skin-colored tones instead.

Not Drinking Enough Water

Drinking plenty of water is a great way to even out skin tone, and prevent future blemishes. Before leaving for the day, make sure you have a glass of water! You can mix it in with diluted apple cider vinegar or lemon, depending on what kind of flavoring you like best.

Washing Your Face After Your Hair

Okay, so I’d never actually given this one much thought prior to this, but it makes so much sense! If you are prone to breakouts on your forehead and hairline, make sure to wash your face AFTER you wash your hair. Believe it or not, the oils from the conditioner can cause breakouts. This is one of those beauty mistakes you should stop making immediately! You’ll definitely notice a positive change in your skin.

Not Exfoliating

I don’t exfoliate nearly enough, but that all stops right now! Exfoliating is a great way to remove dead skin cells and make your skin feel silky smooth.  Make it a point to exfoliate your face AND body at least twice weekly in the shower. I love the body scrubs from Bath and Body Works, and they are great for exfoliation! Don’t forget your face, too!
