Fall Crafts Using Soda Pop Bottles

October 28, 2020 by Jeni Woolf Leave a Comment

I love a fun craft, and now that the end of summer is quickly approaching, I’m turning my sights ahead to fall. Over the last few months, my husband and I have tried to dramatically reduce our waste footprint, so crafts using recycled materials have become my favorite. My eldest had a birthday party recently and we have a variety of soda pop bottles waiting to become something else. See how you can make fall crafts using soda pop bottles using the ideas below.

Fall Crafts Using Soda Pop Bottles

DIY Bird Feeders
With the vegetation dying off, and other birds heading south for the winter, the ones that stick around will appreciate a new bird feeder! And it’s pretty easy to make one out of an old soda pop bottle. Simply cut an opening out of the middle of the bottle, cover your bottle in paint or fabric (this is optional), attach the top to a string, and fill with birdseed. Find the full tutorial here.

Apple Containers For Fall
For a cute fall-themed craft, cut the bottoms off of two two-liter bottles. Once cut out, use red and green acrylic paints to make them really look like apples. Next, attach them together with a zipper made for craft projects and make a stem out of cardboard. Fill with small jams or other seasonal treats for a fun gift idea. Project idea from here.
Monster Craft For Halloween
I love this fall craft idea for Halloween! Use old soda pop bottles to create a positively spooky container for candy. To create, draw a monster face on the middle of your two-liter bottle, taking care to cut off the top and the mouth. All that’s left is to give it a good painting and attach it to a handle. Aren’t these adorable? These are one of my kids favorite fall crafts using soda pop bottles. Catch the full tutorial here.

Hanging Water Bottle Vases
This is a great way to display the last of your cut flowers from your garden. To create, cut a two-liter bottle in half. Once cut, turn the bottle so the lid is facing downwards. Attach twine or string to the top of the plastic bottle (using a hole punch if necessary). Fill with water and display your favorite flowers. Pretty unique, huh?
Soda Bottle Jack O lantern
This is probably my favorite idea on the list for fall crafts because it’s incredibly easy to create AND they look positively adorable. To create, cut out various jack o lantern eye and mouth shapes. Set these aside. Next, pour a drop or two of paint into the bottle, adding a bit of water along with it. Put the lid back on the soda bottle and swirl the paint water mixture around, fully coating the inside of the soda bottle. Stick your eyes and mouth on the bottle and cover the bottle cap with a piece of green felt to complete the look.
