Just the other day my three kiddos came home from school talking about what they were going to be for Halloween. And honestly, I couldn’t believe that it was already time for them to start talking about Halloween again. Where on Earth did the time go? Though my kiddos haven’t come to any definite decisions as to what they’re going to be for Halloween, they kept talking about “funny” costume ideas. All my kids want to do is dress up as characters from funny movies! But I have to admit, I do love their sense of humor and I even started thinking of a few funny costume ideas for myself…check them out below!
Wilfred Sanderson
I think anything from the movie Hocus Pocus would make for a funny Halloween costume, but I think Wilfred Sanderson is only the funniest part about the entire movie. She’s so over the top! Create the look yourself with a vibrant red wig, a huge witch hat, and a few elaborate accessories. But just remember one thing: it doesn’t matter how you dress up, just as long as you have that crazy red hair and that memorable lip pout!
A Family of Zombies
Though there’s nothing funny about a family of zombies in real life, it’s absolutely perfect for Halloween! Over-the-top black and white face paint paired with dramatic headpieces and black outfits would make you the hilarious hit of any Halloween party. The more dramatic you make this funny Halloween costume, the better it will be!

It doesn’t matter how much you weigh or how old you are, it’s appropriate for EVERYONE to dress up as a superhero if they want to come Halloween! Just last year, my husband could not decide which superhero he wanted to dress up as (he was torn between Captain America, The Hulk, or Batman) so he went as all three! He looked absolutely ridiculous and we all thought it was hysterical!
T-Rex Costume
It doesn’t matter how old you are…you’ve probably seen those hilarious T-Rex costume videos that are floating around the internet! This Halloween, dress as the T-Rex from those videos and become the person everyone wants to take a selfie with at the party. Be warned that elaborate pranks are practically a part of this costume, everyone who dresses up as a dinosaur has to play at least one prank!
Pet Costumes
I couldn’t resist myself…I had to include at least one Halloween costume idea for pets, I just think they are absolutely hysterical! Every year, regardless of the circumstance, I always make sure to dress up our family pets for the festivities as well, we always laugh so hard when we look back on the photos and see how our dogs were dressed up!
