Track Your Diet

Really! Write down everything you eat every day and the amount you had. Seriously. If it passed through your lips, write it down. Many times, people don’t even realize that their eating habits are unhealthy. By writing everything down, you become more aware of the food choices you are making and are less likely to overeat.

Make All Of Your Protein Lean Protein

Did you know that you use more energy digesting protein as opposed to fat? When you make smarter protein choices, such as eating white fish, chicken, and other low-fat dairy options your calorie burn is higher, making you healthier!

Manage Your Stressors

You’re really going to have to make an effort at it though. It has been scientifically proven that bodily stress actually causes you to crave sugar and fat-filled foods. They weren’t lying when they said that stress influences your body weight, so it’s time to start actually trying to manage your stress! To manage stress, you should devote at LEAST 30 minutes to yourself every day. Use these 30 minutes to do whatever you want and you’ll see a difference!

Running

Or…at least some form of exercise! When trying to lose weight, you should make exercise a priority. Even when it’s the last thing that you want to do! Try to exercise 3-5 times weekly, with sessions between 30 minutes to an hour. It really will make you feel better and the changes in your waistline will be noticeable! Make sure you aren’t eating more to accommodate your change in exercise habits, though!

Sleep More Every Night

Sleeping a mere 30 minutes more every night will actually help you lose weight! It’s been shown that poor sleeping habits cause a slowing of the metabolism. Sleep revitalizes every area of the body and that includes the metabolism.

Eat More Fiber

Fiber is super filling and is usually very low-carb, meaning that a tiny bit of it will keep you full for hours while maintaining your blood sugar levels. To lose weight fast, opt for fibrous foods like almonds, avocados, pears, blackberries, chia seeds, broccoli, and whole-wheat grains.

Stop Snacking!

I get it, I love snacking. This seemed like an impossible thing to stop doing, but as soon as I stopped munching on salty snacks like pretzels and chips, I noticed an immediate change! When hungry, opt for snacks like carrots, celery, almonds, and other protein-rich snacks.

Clean Out Your Fridge And Pantry

Do a purge of your fridge and pantry, getting rid of anything and EVERYTHING unhealthy. If unopened and nonperishable, donate it to a local food bank. Replace everything lost with healthy foods that are healthier choices. You’ll find that it’s easier to stick to your diet and make healthier decisions. Starting habits like these will only benefit you in the long run!
