Let’s face it… with everyone going back to school, our long Summer days are over.  But busy days or not, the house still needs to be both presentable and welcoming.  Here are some DIY decorating projects you can tackle in a weekend to keep up with the season, without losing precious time.

1. Log Entryway

Create a beautiful natural entryway display using some logs.  Make sure to seal the wood with clear coat before use.  The Balance shares how to find logs for display.

Spruce up your tired looking fruit bowl display by matching apples with dried wheat, pinecones, and other fall foliage.  The burlap towel and sign pull the look together really nicely!  Source.

3. Galvanized Bucket

Galvanized buckets can add a really beautiful touch to any display, be it on the porch or in the corner of a room.  Change out the contents of the bucket to match the season or festivity.  I had to do some searching to find my galvanized bucket, but local nurseries and some craft stores seemed to prove the most successful.  Source.

5. Don’t Judge A Book

They’ve always said not to judge a book by it’s cover.  I guess that’s especially true when you use antique books in a clever way!  Get rid of your outdated knife block and keep your knife in this fantastic book display instead.  You can handle this project in a matter of minutes!  Idea seen from Town & Country Living. 6. No Fool Bar Stools

They may be just stools but don’t let that fool you into thinking they don’t need some TLC.  Refinish your old bar stools or make your own new ones for a simple weekend decorating project.  Ana White shares how she made these here.

10. Wallpop

One of my current favorite DIY finds is Wallpop wallpaper.  It’s a new peel and stick wallpaper without all the wet sticky mess.  I also love their designs from traditional wallpaper designs to wood and brick designs as well.  Installing a Wallpop accent wall this weekend will be time very well spent!  Find all your Wallpop options here.
