The Fourth is such a magical holiday! I love the energy of the whole day and I even love the sunburn I usually come home with. However, if you’re like me, you end up doing SOMETHING last-minute on the 4th! And since you can’t go to a party empty-handed, try any one of these super easy (and super delicious) last minute 4th Of July desserts.
Step One: Mix together the cracker crumbs, pretzel sticks, butter, and nuts. When combined, press the crust into the bottom of a styrofoam pan. Beat the cream cheese in an electric mixer for three minutes, then add the sweet and condensed milk and beat for an additional 2-3 minutes.
Â
Step Two: Next, use a rubber spatula to fold the whipped topping into the cheese mixture. Evenly spread the filling over the cracker crust. Cover the pan and freeze for four hours. Top with fresh berries in the pattern of the American flag.
Fruit Pops
-Watermelon
-Blueberries
-Apples
Star shaped cookie cutter (in varying sizes)
Â
Step One: Slice fruit so it is about the same thickness as a cookie. Use cookie cutters to cut star shapes out of your fruit.
Â
Step Two: Once all of the pieces have been cut out, place them inside of one another and stick a straw or a popsicle stick through the bottom.
Red White and Blue Ice Cream Floats
-1/4 cup strawberries quartered
-1/4 cup blueberries
-3 scoops vanilla ice cream
-1/2 cup strawberry soda
-1/2 cup lemon-lime soda
Step One: Place the strawberries in the bottom of a glass. Next, add two scoops of ice cream and some blueberries.
Â
Step Two: Finish with another scoop of ice cream and pour in a mixture of your strawberry and lemon-lime sodas. Refreshing, right? This is one of my favorite desserts for the 4th Of July!
Star Spangled Rice Krispie Treats
-6 cups Rice Krispies Cereal (divided)
-16 oz marshmallows (divided)
-3 tbsp margarine or butter (divided)
-Food Coloring (red and blue/turquoise
Step One: Divide your supplies into three separate bowls for three separate Rice Krispies layers. Next, add the marshmallows and margarine to a microwave-safe bowl and heat on high until marshmallows are large and hot to the touch.Â
Â
Step Two: Remove them from the microwave, and mix in the food coloring, so you have white, red, and blue marshmallows. Mix the marshmallow mixture into each bowl of Rice Krispies.
Â
Step Three: Start with the blue layer and press it into a glass baking dish. Add the white layer next, and finish up top with the red. Let sit for 1-2 hours and then enjoy. Rice Krispies are a classic!Â
Step One: Melt some white candies, heating regularly so the candy stays runny. Twist and separate the oreo cookies so they are split into two halves. Place a hearty dollop of the melted candy on the inside of the Oreo, and place a lollipop stick on it, sandwiching the stick between both halves of the Oreos. Let the candy dry before moving on. Or, skip this whole step and move on to step two.Â
Step Two: Fill two microwave safe bowls with red and blue candy melts, heating regularly so these stay melted, as well. Dip the Oreos into the red and blue candy mixture, so it creates a shell around your Oreo. Add sprinkles while the candy is still wet for added visual appeal.Â
